MATAASNAKAHOY-CANADIAN BLOGSITE.
Mataasnakahoy literally means "Tall Tree". Mataasnakahoy is a municipality in Batangas, Philippines. It was created as a town on January 1, 1932. MKAHOY, as it is fondly called, has 16 barangays, population of about 40,000 and total land area of 2,376hectares. Mataasnakahoy is known for its cool climate due to its high elevation 379 metres (1,240 ft). MKAHOY is one of the lakeside towns of Taal Lake and is about 100 km South of Manila.
The Trevi Fountain is a fountain in the Trevi region in Rome, Italy, and is the largest Baroque fountain in the city. The fountain at the junction of three roads (tre vie) marks the terminal point of Acqua Vergine and Acqua Virgo, one of the ancient aqueducts that supplied water to ancient Rome.
Legend has it that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome. They say that it is lucky to throw three coins with one's right hand over one's left shoulder into the Trevi Fountain. Approximately 3,000 euros are thrown into the fountain each day. Roadside cafes and souvenir shops are all over the place.

Amphitheatre in ancient Rome, begun by the emperor Vespasian to replace the one destroyed by fire during the reign of Nero, and completed by his son Titus in AD 80. It was 187 m/615 ft long and 49 m/160 ft high, and seated 50,000 people. Early Christians were martyred there by lions and gladiators.
The Coloseum is walking distance from Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. There is also a Metro ( train) station right in front of the Coloseum.
There is a long queue with security checks before you enter the Basilica. The view from the outside is magnificent.
On TV, I've seen the Basilicas' front yard where the Pope usually celelebrates major masses but once you're inside, you'll stand in awe and admiration.
This is one of the holiest site of Christendom, it is the burial site of Saint Peter who was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus, the 1st Bishop of Rome, and the 1st Pope. Saint Peter's tomb is below the baldachin or canopy and the altar.
You must always keep in mind that the main reason for your visit is not for sightseeing but a personal pilgrimage to renew and strenghten your faith because everything then becomes so special.
The Basilica of St. Peter is one of four major Basilicas of Rome. Probably the largest church in Christianity, it covers an area of 2.3 hectares (5.7 acres) and has a capacity of over 60,000 people.
I noticed that there were a lot of pilgrim guides, with headsets, who were either with a group or with 1 or 2 individuals explaining everything about the Basilica.
