MATAASNAKAHOY-CANADIAN BLOGSITE.
Mataasnakahoy literally means "Tall Tree". Mataasnakahoy is a municipality in Batangas, Philippines. It was created as a town on January 1, 1932. MKAHOY, as it is fondly called, has 16 barangays, population of about 40,000 and total land area of 2,376hectares. Mataasnakahoy is known for its cool climate due to its high elevation 379 metres (1,240 ft). MKAHOY is one of the lakeside towns of Taal Lake and is about 100 km South of Manila.

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
For many pilgrims their favourite place is the Grotto. At the centre of the Grotto stands the Altar. Candles are burning every moment of every day as a sign of the constant prayer of the Church. In Lourdes much is said without words: the smiles, the simple gestures of one helping another, consideration for others, and the whole place is noticeably quiet.
In the evening, there is a procession where pilgrims from all over the world attend. There are long lines of sick and elderly on wheelchairs attending the procession that ends at the footsteps of the Bassilica. Each mysteryof the Holy Rosary is recited in a different language. Pilgrims raise the lighted candles during the "Ave, Ave, Ave Maria" portion of the hymn. The Baths is just a few feet to the right of the Grotto.

The Immaculate Conception is the conception of the Virgin Mary without any stain of original sin. Mary is called the Immaculata, the Immaculate One. She lived a life completely free from sin. The feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8, was established as a universal feast in 1476 by Pope Sixtus IV.
The Immaculate Conception was solemnly defined as a dogma by Pope Pius IX in his constitution on 8 December 1854. In the Catholic Church, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of Obligation. The Immaculate Conception is our town’s patron saint.
It is interesting to note that we celebrate our town fiesta on January 3 instead of December 8.
